Instalog (Caloocan)

Another discovery in the North, Instalog is not an average food shop within the busy corners of Vicas, along Camarin road in Caloocan City. It might look small and simple, but their offerings is quite extensive which makes it really impressive for me. I have seen this a lot of times as the Vicas is where the jeepneys that I ride to is passing by. I was curious, alright. But I know that one of these days, I'll probably just have the time to have a taste and visit them soon.

Despite their space being small, they made sure to utilize the space by having smaller wooden tables and chairs to accommodate more customers. The place is also open so it is airy and you won't feel suffocated. It may look quaint but it is clean inside. No weird smell or something.

My cousin already ate here once, so she told me that they are really cheap but good. So I already expected something from them. I was quite surprised to see that they have a lot of food in their menu. I mean, it's not really a lot, but for a canteen-like feels of the place, aside from tapsilog and the likes, they also have a few desserts and soups.

Since I wasn't really that hungry and I immediately crave for mami when I saw that they have it, that's what I ordered.

My cousin, on the other hand ordered this. I tasted it and it might be a little salty for others because of the breading but it's good. And for its price, I am sure you'll think it is worth every penny.

Our desserts are these: Saba con yelo and Mais con yelo.

Mine's the Saba con yelo and my cousin wanted Mais con yelo.

At first glance after it was served, I was kind of worried that the ice already melted on the milk since you won't see any ice on the surface. I just shrugged my shoulder off and enjoyed the mami, same as my cousin enjoying her food. When it was time to eat our dessert, lo and behold! There's like an iceberg underneath the mais and the saba and it's still big! I was really surprised amidst the time that we consumed before eating the dessert.

24 Chicken - Delivery (Legarda)

One of the trends today especially in the local scene is anything  Korean. And most of us know that chicken is one of the most consumed food in Korea. You can eat this with rice or with beer. You probably seen a lot of Korean dramas or movies wherein the characters are either ordering chicken or delivering them!

24 Chicken is a restaurant and a delivery service for Korean Chicken. Their only branch where you can dine in is located along Legarda in front of Prestige Driving School. There are two other branches but they only do deliveries or take outs. (1) Vito Cruz branch (2) P. Noval branch.

The place is obviously new and isn't that big but it's still cozy. The place is clean and so as the tables. The staffs are always ready to clean every table that was left out by the customers. They have bags under the tables so the customers can clean after eating, which we find amazing.

They offers bone-in or boneless chicken. We chose the boneless chicken and we can say that it's hassle-free! Yes, you can munch it without thinking abut the bones. You can just enjoy the tasty flavors that they offer.

You can also order their chicken with rice.

Yangnyeom - It's a little bit spicy but bearable. You can taste a bit salty and slightly sweet.

Lemon Glazed - It tasted like their original chicken but has a touch of garlic and lemon. We love the tenderness and softness.

Yangnyeom with Garlic - It also tasted like spicy and slightly sweetness but has an aroma of the garlic that would tickle your taste buds.

Original - It tastes like a typical fried chicken but it's soft and juicy.

Spicy BBQ - It's spicy but one thing we like about this is it's only temporary. After seconds of tasting it, you can taste the BBQ flavor.

Jack Daniels - This is one of their bestseller. It tasted good specially with the sauce. You can taste the hint of JD and we think that it's a nice touch.

Can't stop ourselves from taking picture in front of the big wall mirror with "24 CHICKEN" lettering on it. We think that the mirror wall made the place looks and feel more spacious than it really is.

Cassalu Coffee & Kitchen (Ayala Malls Feliz)

When we realize that Cassalu is actually the home to the original dozen flavored cheesecake, we were very excited to taste more of their food. And when we did, we are not disappointed!

We visited their Ayala Malls Feliz branch last January and it was an awesome experience. We were joined by other bloggers at that time. They served us quite a selection of dishes that made our mouth water.

First, let’s talk about their place. Their Ayala Malls Feliz branch gives off this chill vibe. A place that makes you feel like you can stay and have a good yet quiet time. It can also be a perfect place for you and your family to dine in together as they have long tables or a date with your loved ones as well. The lighting isn’t that dim but it’s still cozy.

The staffs are all attentive and polite, too! They made sure that we have everything that we needed.

On the food, the pasta dishes surely caught our attention; Sausage Threesome Pasta and Kaldereta Pasta are both our favorites! They look very appetizing on the first glance but when you get to taste it, you’ll never be disappointed as they taste delicious as what they look.

Their chicken dishes are tender and rightly cooked. I can rave all day about how delicious their foods are! We tasted all of it and we are very satisfied. Cassalu’s menu is one of a kind.

When it comes to their drink, Elle like their matcha latter so much. She liked that its creamy and the bitterness of the green tea is there but very subtle. She’s a matcha lover and as much as possible, she will try any matcha flavored food or drink that we can encounter.

Now, the dozen flavored cheesecake is on another level. Aside from the fact that in one whole cake, you get to tasted 12 different flavors in one go, the taste of each cheesecakes are truly marvelous. Each of the cakes has their own distinct flavor you will surely love.
